KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Spirit Airlines has announced they will begin to offer nonstop flights between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) starting July 7, 2015. Flights will be operated daily using Airbus A319 aircraft with 145 seats.

In a press release from the Kansas City Aviation Department, Mark VanLoh, director of Kansas City’s Aviation Department, said the city is please to see its newest airline expand its service in Kansas City.

“Los Angeles is one of the most popular destinations from Kansas City and these new flights will certainly cause that demand to increase,” VanLoh said.

The daily service schedule includes departing from MCI at 9:10 and arriving at LAX at 10:36 p.m. The return flight would depart from LAX at 12:40 p.m. and arrive at MCI at 5:46 p.m.

Spirit Airlines launched service from KCI last August, with nonstop service to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Detroit’s Metropolitan Airport (DTW), Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS).
