KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Kansas City Streetcar construction is getting ready to close another set of streets.

Starting Monday, Nov. 17, Fifth Street will close  for 10 days from Grand Boulevard to just east of Walnut Street while constructors builds the curved track in the intersection of Fifth Street and Grand Boulevard. This closure will remain in effect until Wednesday, Nov. 26. Additionally, Grand Boulevard will be open to southbound traffic only from Monday, Nov. 17 through Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Starting Wednesday, Nov. 19, Grand Boulevard, from Fifth to Third Streets, will be local access only. Businesses and parking lots on Grand Boulevard will remain accessible from Third Street. Fifth Street from Walnut to Delaware Streets will be open to two-way traffic during these closures. A map depicting these closures can be found on the KC Streetcar website.

In order to accommodate this schedule and lessen the length of public impact, track crews will work 12-hour shifts, seven days a week. All work, however, is weather dependent. More information about the project is online at www.kcstreetcar.org.
