KC Museum Hard Hat Tour

Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the 100+ year old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Visitors will see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior of the building exposed for the first time in decades. Visitors will also tour the exhibit inside Corinthian Hall: Planning for the Future: Find History at Kansas City Museum. Admission is free and this week’s tours will be held Wednesday through Saturday at 10 a.m. and at noon on Sunday at the museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd.

Dressing Up in Kansas City: Rites of Passage exhibition

Join the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., for Dressing Up Kansas City: Rites of Passage. The exhibit is available by tours only Wednesday – Sunday, on the hour beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday – Saturday and at noon on Sundays. Admission is free. Through the Museum’s historic clothing and textile collection, it’ll feature artifacts illustrating the various customs of Kansas City’s shared heritage. Birth rituals, wedding traditions and mourning customs will all be highlighted with clothing that helped define each in their own time period. In addition, the exhibition will feature photographs of Kansas City residents all dressed up and documenting each rite of passage that came their way.

ESL Classes

Join other adults at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo., at 10 a.m. to learn basic English skills: reading, writing, and conversation. No fee or books are required. For more information call the North-East branch: 816-701-3485.

Halloween Party

Dress up in your Halloween costumes and stop by the library between 5 – 7:00 p.m. for Halloween crafts, games, and more. All are welcome to the event.

Dino O’Dell’s “Not So Scary” Halloween Show

Join North-East Public Library at 10:30 a.m. as children’s songwriter Dino O’Dell sings and tells stories of space aliens, monsters under the bed, and swimming in peanut butter. Put on your Halloween costume and join in the fun at the North-East branch of the Kansas City Public Library.

Scare-It Halloween

Scarritt Neighborhood hosts SCARE-IT Halloween as residents lining Gladstone Boulevard from the Museum down to Mersington Avenue. Residents and volunteers make the night special by going all out on decorations and costumes for themselves, their houses and the neighborhood children. The fun takes place from 4 – 8 p.m. on four car-less blocks of trick-or-treating. The event is free and open to those of all ages.

Computer Class

Learn about navigating your computer in this class, which offers insight into hardware and software components. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. at the North-East Public Library.

Northeast Book Club

Join the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., for its monthly Northeast Book Club at 2 p.m. Share your passion for books and join in on riveting book discussions.
