KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Kansas City, Mo., Community Development Entity is accepting recruits for its fall business workshop.

The KCMO CDE is a 501(c)(4) community development entity committed to creating opportunities in Kansas City’s most economically distressed communities by supporting job creating and catalytic investments as well as business development and entrepreneurship training. The Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO) a 16-week workshop titled “How To Build a Growing, Profitable Business” was first introduced to the area in 2013 as a means to stimulate and support investments that create jobs and create wealth opportunities in its service area. The program is scheduled to start Sept. 25, 2014.

Through the program, participants will learn the skills necessary to grow or start and operate their own business in an interactive and supportive class environment. Small business owners and entrepreneurs interested in learning more about the workshop can attend one of the two information sessions; the first taking place from noon – 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, or the second session from 4 – 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9. Both sessions will take place at at the KCMO CDE offices, 1900 Vine St.
