KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Offering free health screenings and a dose of healthy living advice, staffers of the Walgreen’s Way to Wellness tour bus set up shop in the Walgreens’ parking lot, 5400 Independence Ave., this past Wednesday afternoon.

The 48-foot bus is one of four that tours the nation for 10 months of the year. Karen Mulch, tour manager, said the tour staff of five will see between 70 to 100 patients a day, often sending some healthy advice home with the client.

“We try to make sure people know there are healthy options and benefits to living a healthier lifestyle,” Mulch said.

Independence Avenue Walgreens’ manager Mike Roff was delighted to host the bus as well.

“We want to show our commitment to this community and this is a great way to help our neighbors live a healthier lifestyle,” Roff said.

The bus continued its Kansas City tour on Thursday at the Broadway location and has one more stop today, from 1 – 7 p.m. at 3915 S. Noland Road.
