KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The Kansas City, Mo., Police Department is asking for your help locating a person who robbed the Kansas City Zoo.

According to public information officer Darin Snapp, on Sunday, May 18, at around 4:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Tree Tops Snacks stand of the Kansas City Zoo on a report of an armed business robbery. Upon arrival, employees told officers a “tall, skinny, black male with a short afro wearing a Kansas City Zoo employee shirt” pretended to be a zoo employee before pulling out a black semi-automatic pistol, taking an unknown amount of cash from the register and fleeing from the scene. Before taking the money, the victims told law enforcement the man even assisted with an order at the stand.

There were no injuries reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers Greater Kansas City TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477). Tips may be submitted electronically at www.KCcrimestoppers.com or by texting TIP452 and your information to 274637 (CRIMES). All information is anonymous.
