Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. Parents and kids will enjoy stories geared toward toddlers and preschoolers. Get ready for songs, tongue twisters and dramatic play.

Intercept Human Trafficking Event

The public is invited to join United Methodist Women from the Kansas City Metro Area from 9:30 a.m. to noon to learn more about human trafficking on both a local and global scale. The Intercept Human Trafficking event will be held at the downtown campus of The Church of the Resurrection, 1522 McGee Street, Kansas City, Mo. Persons of all faiths are invited to attend. The event will include coffee and gathering time, an informal panel discussion and dialogue, and action steps sharing what we as people of faith can do to intercept human trafficking. Learn how to identify victims in your own community and what to do when you spot signs of human trafficking. Registration is not necessary but preferred. To register, visit www.cor.org/women. Knights of Columbus Monthly Breakfast

Knights of Columbus will host its monthly breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Anthony’s St. Joseph Hall, 3208 Lexington Ave., Kansas City, Mo. Breakfast will include biscuits and gravy, sausage, pancakes, scrambled eggs, potato casserole, chorizo con huevo and more. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-12.

Independence Plaza Council Monthly Meeting

Independence Plaza Council will host its monthly meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Woodland Elementary School, 711 Woodland Ave., KCMO.

KCPS Facilities Master Plan Meeting – UPDATE: These two meetings have been CANCELLED.

Kansas City Public Schools will host two public meetings in January regarding the Facilities Master Plan. The first meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at Paseo Academy, 4747 Flora, Kansas City, Mo. The next meeting will be held on Jan. 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Manual Career and Technical Center, 1215 E. Truman Rd., Kansas City, Mo. Both meetings will include draft school boundary options and allow for community feedback.  The sessions will also feature an outline of the Capital Improvement Plan and options for financing facility improvements in the future. All are invited to attend.
