Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) culinary students are once again competing in Manual Career & Technical Center’s 21st annual gingerbread house contest. And for the second consecutive year, visitors to Union Station will be the judges.

Gingerbread houses created by students will be on display at Union Station through Dec. 19. Visitors will be able to view these unique displays of student skill and creativity and submit a vote for the best example. Judging criteria includes completeness of the house, creativity, clean trim, and overall appearance. Awards will be presented to the students with the most votes.

The Manual culinary program is offered to students along with a core program in a neighborhood district school.
