Harambee. Youngsters at Grace United Community Church get pumped up for learning through the Harambee morning exercise, which means “coming together.” Through songs, chants and dance, the youngsters warm up their brains for the church’s summer school program, Freedom School, which inspires youngsters to love reading and math. For six weeks, more than 120 children, all from Kansas City Public Schools, participated in the school. Leslie Collins
