KCPD continues to investigate Northeast homicide

Kansas City police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Historic Northeast during the early morning hours of July 1.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, officers were called to the 100 block of North Drury on a reported sound of shots. When they arrived, they discovered a deceased black male with a gunshot wound on the porch of 115 N. Drury. The man, who has been identified as 25-year-old Christopher Jones, was attempting to seek help.

The precise location of the shooting is and suspect information is unknown.
