To celebrate the Fourth of July, the city of Kansas City, Mo., offices and the 311 Call Center will be closed on July 4. The city’s recycling centers, leaf and brush drop-off centers and household hazardous waste facility also will also be closed. In addition, some residents will experience a one-day trash and recycling collection delay due to the holiday.

Residents who usually have Thursday trash collection will receive this service on Friday, July 5. Residents who usually have Friday trash collection will receive it on Saturday, July 6. Residents who have trash collection on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will not be affected.

The week after the holiday, July 5-10, is Trash Amnesty Week. During this time, residents may set out up to 15 bags of trash without tags. No hazardous waste, bulky items or leaf and brush will be collected.
