Daniel Gomez
Daniel Gomez, 72, passed away on March 3, 2013, at his home with his loving wife at his side. A private service was held. Arrangements are by Sebbeto Funeral Home.

Daniel was proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother Ignacio Quintana, known as Wella; father, Carlos R. Gomez; mother, Francisa A. Gomez; brother Rodolfo Q. Gomez; and sisters Irene Torres and Edelmira Ramira Ramirez.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 35 years, Genva Gomez; children Adam Gomez, Danny Gomez, Barbara Gomez, Eddie Gomez; stepson Hal Travis and wife Donna; siblings Mariano Gomez and Elvira Gomez; and many grandchildren.

 

 

Betty Clay Coover Lefman
Betty Clay Coover Lefman, 92, passed away March 6, 2013, at Garden Valley Manor. A funeral service was held March 11 and burial followed in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Arrangements are by Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, Kansas City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Independence Blvd. Christian Church Memorial Fund in Betty’s name.

Betty was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Kansas City, Mo., to Clay Conner and Ruby Rose Coover. She was a graduate of Northeast High School in 1938 and the University of Central Missouri in 1942, where she later received her master’s degree in 1961. She married Ray O. Lefman of Higginsville, Mo., on March 6, 1941, and worked with her husband and father at Coover Drug Store from 1946 to 1958. From 1958 until her retirement in 1980, she worked as a counselor at Northeast High School. In 1965, she was appointed to the U.S. Assay Commission by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Betty was a longtime member of Independence Blvd. Christian Church and was a past-matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, York Chapter #249.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by her cousin, Margaret Rose Twyman of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and numerous friends.
