At approximately 2:45 Thursday afternoon, officers were called to the 5200 block of Norledge in regards to a disturbance involving an armed person. Upon arrival, officers were contacted by the victim who indicated that he was in front of his residence when his neighbor, the suspect, an Hispanic male in his early 20s attempted to rob him. The suspect demanded money and struck the victim in his head with a gun. The suspect then fled to his residence across the street and refused to surrender.

An Operation 100 was initiated by the responding officers and tactical units arrived on the scene. A little before 6 p.m., officers made entry in to the house and the suspect was not located. A source last night near the scene indicated one person was taken into custody, but that report was incorrect.
