Fence replacement was under way at the Benton Circle Wednesday as workers from Broski Fence of Kansas City replaced part of the wrought iron fencing that surrounds the historic Benton Monument. The fence was damaged last spring by an errant driver who failed to negotiate the circle, plowing over two traffic islands, then landing in the flower gardens inside the circle. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is continuing to work on the replacement of the plaque that was stolen from the Benton Monument two years ago.
