NE Chamber After Hours
The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce will host an After Hours event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Ramada Conference Center, 1601 N. Universal Ave., Kansas City, Mo. Appetizers will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a small unwrapped gift for a gift exchange. There will also be prize giveaways.

 

Teen Crafting
A Teen Craft Night will be held at 5 p.m. at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., for ages 13 to 19. Teens will work on creating art for the teen space at the library.

City Hall 75th Anniversary Celebration
The city of Kansas City is celebrating the 75th anniversary of City Hall and is inviting the public to join the celebration from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor rotunda of City Hall, 414 E. 12th St. Light refreshments, including punch and a cake in the shape of City Hall, will be provided. Entertainment will be provided by local musician Will Matthews, guitarist for the Count Basie Orchestra. In addition, attendees can browse through the display cases to learn more about the history of City Hall.

Whatsoever BBQ Auction Fundraiser
The Whatsoever Community Center will host its 25th Annual BBQ Auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the center, 1201 Ewing Ave., Kansas City, Mo. Proceeds will benefit the center’s community programs. Activities will include dinner, silent auction, raffles, prizes and more. Story Time and Craft
Join North-East Public Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft geared toward toddlers at 10:30 a.m. This week’s theme is “This is NOT a box.”

Visits with the KC Museum’s Fairy Princess
Children can visit the Fairy Princess at the Kansas City Museum in December on Saturdays and Sundays, which costs $8. The Fairy Princess will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays (Dec. 8 and 15) and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays (Dec. 9 and 16). In addition, there will be Fairy Princess themed arts and crafts activities and holiday decor. A complimentary photo is included in the visit.

 

Health Fair
The North-East Public Library in conjunction with Truman Medical Center will host a mini health fair at the library beginning at noon.

KCDC Open House
The Kansas City Design Center and the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce will host an open house and social after hours Dec. 13 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at 1018 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, Mo. KCDC will give a presentation on the Independence Avenue Urban Vision project and the public will have an opportunity to view their analysis and design work. All are invited to attend.


Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club
Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club will host its monthly meeting Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Special speaker will be Barbara O’Brien, executive director of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. O’Brien will give a brief history of the Kemper and share images from two current exhibitions. During the gathering, the Kemper will give away door prizes. Feel free to bring a sweet or savory treat to share. Coffee and tea will be catered by Eleos Coffee.
