Four teenagers were wounded early Sunday morning near St. John and Hardesty when a passerby leveled a shotgun at them and fired, allegedly for ogling his girlfriend.

According to police reports, a group of teenagers was standing in Budd Park at about 1 a.m. when a man and his girlfriend walked by. The suspect then turned to ask the group of teens, “What are you looking at?” and pulled out a shotgun and began to fire. The group of teens scattered and ran.

The injured teens were transported to an area hospital by a parent of one of the teens. None of the injuries were life threatening according to police. No arrests have been made in the case. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
