La Chalupa Farmers Market
Mattie Rhodes’ La Chalupa Farmers Market will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and features locally grown produce. The farmers market will be held every Thursday at the Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping Ave., Kansas City, Mo. SNAP/EBT cards will be accepted.

Ultimate Baconator Challenge
The Ultimate Baconator Challenge will be held at Barney Allis Plaza in Kansas City from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While supplies last, bacon aficionados can enjoy a free Son of Baconator with a Wendy’s Frosty, as well as receive gift cards, T-shirts and other merchandise.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Show
Visit the North-East Public Library for Dino O’Dell’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Show at 10:30 a.m. O’Dell will sing and tell stories of space aliens, monsters under the bed and swimming in peanut butter. Wear your Halloween costume, too!

Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club
Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club will host its monthly meeting from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feel free to bring a savory or sweet breakfast hors d’oeuvres. Eleos Coffee will cater the drinks. Trunk-or-Treat
Independence Boulevard Christian Church will host a Trunk-or-Treat for children 13 and younger from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 606 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. For questions, call the church at (816) 241-0016.

Shaman’s Fire Performance
Shaman’s Fire will perform at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. at the St. John Gardens, 3916-3920 St. John Ave. The event is free and will also include a camp fire with s’mores and hot dogs following both performances. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets.

Track n Treat
The Police Athletic League (PAL) is hosting a Track n Treat for youngsters from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the PAL football field, 1801 White. For every lap a youngster runs or walks around the track, he or she will receive a treat. Participants can receive up to 10 treats, totaling 2.5 miles. Spanish Lecture at St. Anthony’s
Julian Zugazagoitia, director and CEO of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, will deliver a lecture in Spanish at St. Anthony Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., at 6 p.m. Zugazagoitia will talk about the spiritual experience of art and his experiences growing up in Mexico, observing the Day of the Dead. The event is open to the public.
