Award winning chili. Boy Scout Troop 80 serves up their homemade and award winning chili during their annual Chili Dinner Oct. 19 at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall. The scouts cooked the meat Oct. 18 and began cooking the chili at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 19. By 11 a.m., they had 220 requests for carry-outs alone. The dinner served as a fundraiser to ensure every scout can attend the H. Rowe Bartle camp in Osceola, Mo. The cost for each scout is $300. Boy Scout Troop 80 currently has 35 active scouts and dates back to 1929, making it one of the oldest troops in Kansas City.
