NEKC Chamber Ribbon Cutting
The Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for Late Model Auto Parts, 5420 E. 10th. The ribbon cutting celebration will be held in conjunction with the Chamber’s after hours event, which will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Late Model Auto. Appetizers and beverages will be served. All are invited to attend.

 

La Chalupa Farmer’s Market
Mattie Rhodes Community Center, 148 N. Topping, will host La Chalupa Farmer’s Market every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Mattie Rhodes parking lot. EBT/SNAP cards will get extra dollars for local produce.

 

Million Dollar Movie
Check out North-East Public Library’s “Million Dollar Movie” at 10 a.m. at the library, 6000 Wilson Rd. Refreshments will be provided.

 

Bead Making
Kids ages 8 and up are invited to attend North-East Public Library’s bead making class at 5 p.m. Design your own clay beads!

Story Time and Craft
Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. Parents and kids will enjoy stories geared toward toddlers and pre-schoolers. Get ready for songs, tongue twisters and dramatic play.


Community Cookout
NorthEastminster Presbyterian Church and Living Faith Baptist Church will host a free cookout at 217 S. Benton from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the front lawn of the church.

 

Scarritt Coffee Club
The Scarritt neighborhood will host its monthly coffee club from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be puppeteer Paul Mesner of Paul Mesner’s Puppets. Mesner will talk about his craft and show off some of his puppets. Refreshments will be provided and Eleos Coffee will provide coffee. Feel free to bring your own appetizer to share. Trolley Tour
The Kansas City Museum is sponsoring a Trolley Tour which will highlight Kansas City’s Latino heritage. The tour is being offered in conjunction with the Museum’s Visions of Mexican Art exhibit at Union Station. The Tour will begin at 2 p.m. and cost is $35. UNplaza Art Fair
The 21st Annual UNplaza Art Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 4501 Walnut St., as a fundraiser for PeaceWorks’ projects. Affordable art and food will be available. Historic Northeast Potter Rebecca Koop will also be featured.

 

Deferred Action Clinic
The Immigrant Justice Advocacy Movement (IJAM) will host a Deferred Action application clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Iglesia Cristiana Camino, Verdad y Vida, 541 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, Mo. IJAM will help attendees fill out their application, and hand out information regarding high school re-enrollment and GED access.

Community Curator Series
This month’s Kansas City Museum’s Community Curator program will explore the Museum’s Nuestra Herencia (Our Heritage) initiative and archive of Dos Mundos with Dos Mundos publisher Ed Reyes. The free event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Rd.

 

Free Mammograms
