Kansas City police have now released that the human bones found last week near Cliff Drive and Wabash are believed to be those of a white male. Although police sources did not positively identify the man, they do believe he could possibly be linked to an abandoned vehicle recovered in the area about 1 year ago. The bones appear to be about a year old.

The vehicle recovered did not have license plates, so police are using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in attempting to locate the owner. Police also indicated that a long gun was found near the body as well.

Police department spokesman Capt. Steve Young indicated that it would be some time before a positive identification of the bones could be made. No cause of death has been released at this time.
