KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Kansas City Public Schools want to help families with children transitioning into kindergarten.

That’s why, from March 24 – 28, neighborhood schools will host kindergarten roundups. The KCPS roundups give families with children entering kindergarten an opportunity to meet teachers, potential classmates and get familiar with the school building.

The following Northeast schools are participating in next week kindergarten roundups:

Monday, March 24 – Friday, March 28
Trailwoods Elementary, 6201 E. 17th St. (noon – 4 p.m. each day)

Thursday, March 27
Garfield Elementary, 436 Prospect Ave. (4 – 5:30 p.m.)

Friday, March 28
Gladstone Elementary, 335 N. Elmwood Ave. (11 a.m. – noon)
Whittier Elementary, 1012 Bales Ave. (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

Parents and guardians are welcome to enroll their children during these events. Beginning March 24, parents can enroll their children at the assigned school or at 1211 McGee from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Children must turn five-years-old by Aug. 1, 2014, to be eligible for kindergarten during the 2014-2015 school year.

Parents must proved the following documents must at the time of enrollment: immunization record, verification of birth, parent/guardian photo ID, current utility bill and lease/mortgage agreement. For other enrollment information, call 816-418-7505 or visit www.kcpublicschools.org/enroll.
