College
Degrees for District Parents
Parent Power Institute offers adults the chance
to continue their own education
The Kansas
City, Missouri School District’s goal through our new
Parent Power Institute (PPI) is to raise the bar on student
achievement by improving parent’s educational and economic
status, which can be achieved by successfully completing a college
degree.
This new program is for parents who have children in the Kansas
City, Mo. School District and currently have a high school diploma
or GED equivalent and the desire to further their education
by completing a college degree program.
If you can attend academically enriched classes six to 12 hours
a week, PPI can provide financial aid applications, child-care
and transportation and can transition parents to the Parents
to College Program. If you’ve dreamed of earning your
college degree, this may be your chance to fulfill your dream.
Find out more: Parent Power Institute is hosting an Info-Fair
on Monday, January 22 at UMKC’s Pierson Hall, 5000 Holmes
Ave. There are two sessions: 1 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
