Newly formed organization Show Me Empowered Women hosted an educational rally Saturday at the American Sons of Columbus hall on Independence Avenue. The rally was to introduce the group to the community and exchange ideas with other community leaders. The Historic Northeast-based organization seeks to help and strengthen women, focusing on issues of immigration, education, unemployment and other social issues. “We are just trying to bridge that gap,” SMEW President Jawahir Aden said.
